So, who are we, and what do we do?
We’re both co-directors of Shock Red, so as well as making fun stuff, we get to handle all of the other day-to-day fun stuff too, such as websites, social media and talking to accountants and bank managers… You get the idea: The *really* fun stuff.
Jason Page (Programming, Audio, Design.)
I have been working in the games industry since 1988, when I joined Graftgold as a trainee programmer at the age of 16. Here, I progressed to be both a programmer as well as handling their audio needs.
In 1994, I joined up with the late, great Richard Joseph. I created audio for over 20 game titles in this time.
Later I joined Sony Computer Entertainment, where I handled all of their audio needs (programming, writing music, creating sound effects, and supporting developers around the world). I worked at Sony for nearly 20 years in a number of positions and with a lot of brilliant people, but finally left to follow my dream of writing fun games again.
Emma Page (Graphics, Design.)
I got my first job in 1992 when I trained as graphic artist with Graftgold. Initially, I was creating artwork for 2D games on the Commodore Amiga and Sega Megadrive.
Since then I’ve worked at a number of companies, such as Virgin, Argonaut, and Sony. I have had the opportunity to take on many different roles and work on many great projects creating games and demo graphics, 3D models, designing promotional material, and advising developers.
Jason and I always enjoyed working together and had often talked about one day creating our own company. Finally, we have the chance to do it!
